Saudi Center for Rehabilitation and Training of Blinds Girls
About Us
The Center was established in Amman in the year 1974 by a resolution adopted by the General Conference of the Middle East Committee For Blinds Affairs in Riyadh.
Based on the decision of the Council of Ministers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia No. 177 dated 20.11.1416 H. (8.4.1996 A.D.) which ruled for attaching the responsibilities of Regional Office of Middle East Committee For Blinds Affairs to the Ministry of Education; and based on the desire of both the Saudi and Jordanian parties to continue providing the best services to blind females, a memorandum of understanding had been prepared in this respect between the Saudi Ministry of Education and the Jordanian Ministry of Social Development. This memorandum was signed on 1.1.1997 by both HE Saudi Minister of Education and HE Jordanian Minister of Social Development and it became effective on 1.1.1997
With the end of the year 2008 the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Decided not to renew the memorandum of understanding mentioned above from the beginning of year 2009, but with the great efforts and mediation of charitable people his Royal Highness Prince Nawaf Bin Faisal (May god keep him safe) presented a generous donation to cover half of the operational expenses of the Center for the years 2009-2010.
On the beginning of year 2009 and based on his royal highness donation, the Ministry of Social Development in Jordan and the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Jordan signed joint record that is active and valid for two years and ends on 31/12/2010 , whereby both sides share equally the operational expenses of the center. Based on that the signed record stated that the share of the Jordanian Ministry of Social Development covers the Jordanian staff salaries and the share of the embassy of Saudi Arabia in Jordan that was donated by his Royal Highness Prince Nawaf Bin Faisal covers all other operational Expenses and costs.
At the beginning of the year 2011 His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz / President of Saudi Arab Federation for Football presented another generous donation that covers the operational expenses and costs of the center for the year 2011 only.
